Run a ChronX Node

Strengthen the network. Earn rewards starting January 1, 2029.

Running a ChronX node helps decentralize the network, validates transactions, and keeps the protocol independent of any single point of failure. The network is permissionless — anyone can run a node on Windows or Linux. Node operators will be eligible for rewards from the 1,000,000,000 KX Node Rewards pool beginning January 1, 2029.

Seed Nodes

The installers already connect to these seeds (live chain 7fd9138c). Listed here for manual setups.

Getting Started

Quick Setup

Windows: unzip the download and double-click Install ChronX Node. Mac / Linux: unpack and run sudo bash install.sh.

Optionally type a public name for your node. The installer downloads the verified chain snapshot and sets the node to start automatically with your computer.

About a minute later it shows RESULT: OK — your node agrees with the network. Run Check ChronX Node any time to see it again.

Keep your machine online to maximize Node Rewards eligibility. Rewards begin January 1, 2029.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to keep my node online 24/7?

No. Run your node whenever you can. More uptime increases your eligibility for rewards, but there is no minimum requirement.

Will running a node cost me anything?

Only the electricity and bandwidth your machine uses. There is no staking requirement and no KX deposit needed.

When do Node Rewards start?

January 1, 2029. The 1,000,000,000 KX Node Rewards pool unlocks over 100 years via harmonic schedule. Distribution criteria will be published before that date.

Can I run a node on a Raspberry Pi?

Not with this release: packages are Windows x86_64, macOS Apple Silicon and Linux x86_64. ARM64 Linux is planned.

Is port-forwarding required?

Not required but recommended. Open TCP port 30303 on your router for best connectivity. The node works behind NAT using relay peers.

Where is the data stored?

Windows: C:\ProgramData\ChronX\node-7fd9138c. Mac: /usr/local/chronx-node-7fd9138c. Linux: /opt/chronx-node-7fd9138c. About 1 GB today; it grows slowly.
