Everything you need to know about ChronX, KX, and time-locks.
ChronX is a blockchain built for promises: send words, KX, or both to anyone, locked until a date you choose, with the terms enforced by the protocol โ not a bank, not a lawyer, not a third party.
Its story starts with three things: words into the future (a letter for a future birthday), Bitcoin (value for someone you love), and other community-supported currencies (a promise denominated the way your community thinks). The native time-lock makes future delivery a first-class primitive โ simpler, and with zero protocol fees on KX movement.
KX is the native token of the ChronX protocol. It is the unit of value transferred and locked on the network. Total supply is fixed at 8,270,000,000 KX โ no inflation, no new minting ever.
KX is divisible into 1,000,000 chronos (the smallest unit). This means you can send as little as 0.000001 KX.
You can buy and sell KX directly for USDC inside the wallet โ see the Exchange.
Getting started takes about 2 minutes:
New users can claim 25 free KX from the faucet โ issued as time locks (5 KX right away, 10 KX after 30 days, 10 KX after 60 days). No payment required. Just enter your email on the home page.
No. Zero fees. Forever.
ChronX has no gas fees, no network fees, no transaction fees of any kind. The recipient receives exactly what you send โ every single time. This is a protocol guarantee, not a promotional offer.
This is only possible because ChronX is purpose-built for one thing: future payments. There is no smart contract execution overhead, no miner incentive auction, no fee market.
Your wallet can be fully restored from your backup key โ a single string shown during wallet creation. If you saved it, you can restore your wallet on any device at any time using Settings โ Restore Wallet.
If you did not save your backup key and you lose access to your device, your KX cannot be recovered. There is no central server or custodian that holds your keys. This is by design โ you are in full control.
We strongly recommend writing your backup key on paper and storing it somewhere safe offline.
Note: this is about your wallet keys. An unclaimed on-chain promise is a different situation โ the KX waits on-chain at zero cost until it is claimed; there is no protocol deadline and no forfeiture. If you sent KX by email, the invitation works differently: the recipient has a 3-day claim window, and unclaimed KX returns to you automatically (your wallet also has a manual Reclaim option). If someone sent KX to you and you're hard to reach, independent providers listed in the Verifas directory may offer help finding or delivering it โ those are the providers' own services, not Verifas's actions and not protocol guarantees. Lost wallet keys are different again: without your backup key, no one can recover them โ not even ChronX.
A time-lock (also called a Promise) locks a specified amount of KX until a future date you choose. The recipient cannot access the funds before that date โ the protocol enforces this, not a contract.
To create one: go to the Send tab โ choose Send Later โ enter the amount, recipient, and unlock date. The KX is deducted from your balance immediately and placed in a locked state on-chain.
Once the unlock date passes, the recipient claims the KX with a single tap in their wallet.
Cancellation: Every promise carries its own cancellation window, chosen at creation โ up to 7 days; locks lasting 1 year or more always include one (at least 24 hours). Your wallet shows each promise's exact 'Cancelable until' date. Email sends: you can cancel an unclaimed send for 3 days after sending; the recipient has 3 days to claim (3 days past each stage's unlock for scheduled sends); unclaimed KX returns to you automatically.
How far ahead? Horizon limits are per wallet platform, not per protocol: the mobile wallet currently schedules up to 1 year out, while the desktop wallet supports long horizons โ decades into the future. The protocol itself sets no horizon cap.
Use Send to Email in the Send tab. Enter the recipient's email address and the amount. ChronX will:
The recipient has 3 days to claim โ for scheduled sends, 3 days past each stage's unlock. If they don't claim, the KX automatically returns to your wallet. No risk to you.
Directly in the ChronX wallet: open Exchange, pick Buy or Sell, and enter an amount. The desk quotes an exact USDC price โ disclosed before you agree to anything.
On accept, your KX locks into a two-party escrow that neither side can move alone. When the USDC payment is verified on Arbitrum, the escrow releases the KX automatically. Settlement takes minutes, and the protocol charges zero fees on the KX leg.
Moving, locking, and delivering KX costs zero protocol fees โ forever. That's a protocol invariant, not a promotion.
Optional services show their exact price before you agree: on the exchange, the desk's USDC price is the price, plus Arbitrum network gas on the USDC leg. Nothing is hidden.
Open the ChronX Wallet, go to the Rewards tab (๐), enter your email address, and tap Register.
The Rewards program gives early adopters priority access to airdrop distributions and community incentives. Your wallet address is registered so rewards are sent directly on-chain โ no custodian.
You can also register at chronx.io/rewards.
Genesis is January 1, 2026.
The chain's own records tie to it: the Humanity Stake (1,000,000 KX, unlocking January 1, 2126), the Treasury and Node Rewards harmonic locks, and the total supply โ fixed at 8,270,000,000 KX, equal to the world population on that date.
You may see August 5, 2026 in some older ChronX material. That date is not the genesis; where it appears (including the chronx.io sealed-facts block) it is a labeling error to be corrected โ the ledger's genesis is January 1, 2026.
Yes. ChronX transactions are signed with ML-DSA-44 (FIPS 204) โ the NIST-standardized post-quantum signature scheme derived from Dilithium. These signatures are designed to resist attacks from future quantum computers. Note that native-chain signature protection does not by itself certify wallets, browsers, or external chains.
Key design principles:
Cold storage means keeping your KX in a wallet whose private key has never touched the internet. It's the most secure way to hold large amounts long-term.
ChronX Wallet includes a built-in cold storage generator (Settings โ Cold Storage). It creates a brand-new keypair entirely offline on your device. You get:
To spend from a cold wallet later, use Settings โ Import Private Key to load the key back into your wallet.
